Native Pantry was established in early 2018 by Jeff Smith and Bill Mehney out of a realization that there is a more conscious, holistic way to approach what we feed our families. Our mission is simple: To produce and procure food in such a way that it is as rich in nutrients as it is good for the land and animals on which it was raised.
Through working with other farm mentors in the regenerative agriculture area and through coming to realize that conventional farming techniques are destructive to soil and community health, we have embarked on a journey to make a difference. We have come to believe that how we choose to manage our animals and soils will directly affect the nutritional quality of the food produced and thus the health of our customers.
We are passionate about using natural (mimicking nature) techniques to raise our animals and all of our farm partners hold the same beliefs. We truly believe we can regenerate our health and the health of our communities through food and the processes in which it is raised.
"The soil is the great connector of lives, the source and destination of all. It is the healer and restorer and resurrector, by which disease passes into health, age into youth, death into life. Without proper care for it we can have no community, because without proper care for it we can have no life."
